16 Jan 2018 - 00:00:00
In compliance with its commitment to transparency, the Revita Fund discloses its second report quarterly implementation (October to December 2017).
Until 31 December 2017 they joined the Revita Fund 54 entities, with donations in cash, in goods and in the provision of services. Cash donations amount to EUR 4.357.150,06. Given the scale of the responsibilities assumed by the Fund, the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, through Resolution of the Council of Ministers No 180/2017, increased the financing of the Revita Fund in EUR 2 500 000, which are in addition to the above-mentioned value.
In order to contribute to greater efficiency in the management of donations, protocols with reference entities, such as the Cáritas Diocesana de Coimbra and the União das Misericórdias Portuguesas together with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, which have added other donations and are responsible for their management.
A protocol was also signed with the Portuguese Red Cross to assume the role of Logistics Co-ordinator of Equipment, carrying out support functions in the context of the strategy for equipping the affected dwellings and in the preparation of the respective proposals for the allocation of resources.
Within the established framework of cooperation, the Revita Fund, through its Technical Commission, provided the distribution of houses to be recovered and rebuilt in the three municipalities affected, but also in the adjacent municipalities of Góis, Pampilhosa, Sertã and Penela.
In this context, the various funds for recovery and reconstruction have been allocated 263 first-dwelling houses, which are all in progress. From this set stand out 217 houses in more advanced stage, including 90 houses with work in progress and 127 completed.
The Revita Fund is directly in charge of the rehabilitation of 91 houses, with a more demanding intervention profile as they are mostly integral reconstructions. In January 2018, 81 of the 91 boxes allocated (89%) are already running or completed. The financial implementation is, of course, more phased, with the total value of € 314,997.16.
The Board of Directors decided to apply part of the donations of the Revita Fund in the recovery of the activity of agricultural producers and subsistence agriculture, thus covering the farmers who have suffered losses above € 1,053 and below € 5,000, also due to the fires of June 2017 in the municipalities of Figueiró dos Vinhos, Castanheira de Pera and Pedrógão Grande.
In this context subsidies were granted and processed to 1130 agricultural producers, in total value EUR 3.440.358,26. This responds to duly identified needs, not covered by public policy measures aimed at the areas and population affected by the fires, contributing directly to the well-being of the populations and the revitalization of the affected territories.
To date, between housing reconstruction and support to farmers, the Revita Fund has already made payments totalling € 3.755.355,42.
