The large-scale fires that affected the municipalities of Castanheira de Pera, Figueiró dos Vinhos and Pedrógão Grande in June 2017 brought serious and tragic consequences, resulting in the irreparable loss of human lives, as well as serious material damage. The Portuguese, in a huge national effort of solidarity, sought to mitigate the patrimonial damage suffered by the populations of these municipalities, which translated into numerous donations.

In this context, the Government decided to create REVITA, a social fund, with the aim of managing donations delivered within the scope of solidarity demonstrated, in close coordination with the municipalities of Castanheira de Pera, Figueiró dos Vinhos and Pedrógão Grande.

REVITA aims to contribute to a greater efficiency in the management of donations that are, by decision of donors, allocated to this Fund.
