8th Quarterly Implementation Report

15 Jul 2019 - 00:00:00

Following the large-scale fires that affected the municipalities of Castanheira de Pera, Figueiró dos Vinhos and Pedrógão Grande, in June 2017, 63 entities joined the Revita Fund, donating money, goods and services. Cash donations amount to EUR 4.788.886,58. In view of the size of the liabilities assumed by the Fund, the Ministry of Solidarity and Social Security increased the financing of the Revita Fund by EUR 2 500 000, in addition to the amount mentioned above.

Within the established framework of cooperation, the Revita Fund, through its Technical Commission, ensured the distribution of the houses to be restored and rebuilt in the three municipalities affected, but also in the adjacent municipalities of Góis, Pampilhosa, Sertã and Penela.

In this context, the various funds were allocated to the reconstruction of 259 houses first dwelling, it should be noted that, of this set, 233 homes have been completed. The rest are running.

The Revita Fund is directly in charge of the rehabilitation of 99 houses, with a more demanding intervention profile as they are mostly integral reconstructions. At the end of March 2019, 79 of these houses have been completed., 15 suspended, the remainder being implemented. The financial implementation is, of course, more phased, with the total value of € 2.522.972,37.

The Management Board decided to apply part of the donations of the Revita Fund in the recovery of the activity of agricultural producers and subsistence agriculture, thus covering farmers who suffered losses of more than €1,053 and less than €5,000, also due to the fires of June 2017 in the municipalities of Figueiró dos Vinhos, Castanheira de Pera and Pedrógão Grande.

In this context, subsidies have been awarded and processed to 1131 agricultural producers, in total value EUR 3.442.967,76. This was done in response to duly identified needs, not covered by public policy measures aimed at the areas and population affected by the fires, contributing directly to the well-being of the populations and the revitalization of the affected territories.
